See what your well is really doing.

Well Analysis Corporation is the largest production logging company on the West Coast. We build our own downhole tools, run them from our own units, and put an answer on your desk instead of just a log.

00 · SURFACE

Rig up.

Lubricator on. Tool string made up. Line tension checked. Our computerized logging units roll out of Bakersfield, Los Angeles and Fallon, Nevada — or ship anywhere in the world.

01 · TEMPERATURE

Read the heat.

High-resolution temperature, ±2°F, 0–600°F, 15,000 psi. Built with Texaco R&D to track steam movement across whole fields. It is the survey that shows where injection really goes.

  • ±2°F accuracy
  • 0–600°F
  • 15,000 psi
02 · FLUID ENTRY

Which perfs produce.

The fullbore spinner samples the whole pipe. Each set of perforations gets a number: how much it contributes, and whether it is oil, water or just a hole in the casing.

  • Fullbore flowmeter
  • Entry profile
  • Rate by zone
03 · CAPACITANCE

Oil or water.

Capacitance reads the fluid around the sensor and tells water from hydrocarbon. On the same descent as spinner and temperature, it pins down exactly where the water is coming in.

  • Fluid ID
  • Water holdup
  • Same trip
04 · CALIPER

The shape of your casing.

Spring arms ride the wall and log internal diameter inch by inch. Scale, corrosion, collapse and ovality stop being a suspicion and become a measurement.

  • Multi-arm
  • ID & ovality
  • Scale · corrosion
05 · NOISE

Hear the leak.

Hydrophones listen for fluid moving behind pipe: cement channels, packer leaks, casing holes. Noise logging finds the problems that never show up as a temperature change.

  • Behind-pipe flow
  • Channel detection
  • Stationary reads
06 · INJECTION PROFILE

Where the water goes.

Temperature, CCL, spinner and I-131 tracer on one string. Water and steam injection surveys find packer leaks, top-perf leaks, casing holes and plugged perfs before they cost you a pattern.

  • 350°F · 15,000 psi
  • I-131 tracer
  • Water · steam
07 · GEOTHERMAL

Built for 600°F.

A 1.83-inch heat-shielded PTS string that goes through tubing and logs through casing. Mil-grade components and stringent calibration keep the data stable, log after log, in the hottest wells on the West Coast.

  • 1.83" OD
  • Through tubing
  • E-line or memory
08 · TOTAL DEPTH

Log complete.

Depth-matched channels, drafted in-house, reproduced in-house. Turnaround is measured in hours because our tech department keeps every truck and every computer working. Now meet the tools.

    Fabrication & tech department

    We don't wait
    on a vendor.

Our machine shop builds the downhole tools you just watched. An electronics engineer on staff designs and repairs the boards inside them. When a tool breaks at 2 a.m., it is fixed in Bakersfield, not shipped to Houston.

That is the whole reason WELACO can keep quality high and turnaround short while the industry gets busier.

    SHOP

    Full machine shop

Downhole logging tools, offshore skid units, portable mast units, complete wireline units and electronic line units. Modification of existing equipment.

    R&D

    Full-time R&D

A standing research and development program so the newest and most accurate technology ends up on your well, not in a brochure.

    TECH

    Technical department

Keeps the computers in the office and on every truck working, so the turnaround on your survey stays measured in hours.

    DRAFT

    In-house drafting & log reproduction

Your log is drafted, reproduced and delivered by the people who ran it.

    Geothermal

    High-temperature
    wireline, done right.

A 1.83-inch tool string that reaches zones of interest through the tubing and evaluates them through both tubing and casing. High-speed, stable electronics and optimized detectors give log data with far less statistical uncertainty than conventional devices.

Because the point of the program is reservoir monitoring and time-lapse logging, calibration and QA are strict: API and industry-standard compliance, plus periodic operating-characteristic checks at our technical facility. Same response on every log, so you can trust the difference between them.

    About WELACO

    Three analog trucks and
    one contract. That was 1990.

    OCT 1990

Well Analysis Corporation opens in Bakersfield with three logging units, analog equipment on every one, and a single contract with Shell Oil Company.

    THE SLOW YEARS

The industry went quiet. WELACO kept growing anyway, on the strength of one thing: the quality of the service.

    BUILDING THE SHOP

Computerized logging units. In-house drafting and log reproduction. A complete machine shop producing our own downhole electronic tools, with an electronics engineer on staff.
